Many thanks to all for your insight and comments, they are appreciated! I've always messed around with cars and trucks so at age 44 this is my first expierence with bikes. Many of the same lessons in life apply - like most folks who own dealerships (cars or bikes) pray mightly to the big profit god - I'm just surprised that anyone would trash talk a perfectly good piece of inventory. The Savage is a nice bike, its what I was looking for in an entry level bike and the more I ride, the more I realize it may end up being what I want most out of a bike.
